My name is Rosene Kotz and I am a self-taught artist working in a range of mediums. My practice as an artist began through a desire to recreate what I was seeing in everyday life and as a creative outlet to express myself.
As a photographer I delight in capturing images of South Australia, with a particular passion for capturing the history of stone shearing sheds. As a painter, I work with oils, acrylics and mixed media. In addition, I have recently been experimenting with the creation of jewellery and sculptural pieces, using resin, clay and native quandong stone. I find that experimenting with new materials inspires and drives my creative process.
I have been a member and volunteer at Top of the Torrens Gallery for several years. I enjoy interacting with visitors and talking about the gallery, the artists and the artworks. I also volunteer monthly at the the Kapunda Community Gallery.
